Evernote changed my life - save changes?

I was pointed to Evernote by various blogs here and there. I have managed to somehow ignore it for a while, but not any more. I have signed up and downloaded the Evernote for Windows and Evernote Firefox plugin.

My life is forever changed.

Forget notepad scraps here and there, digital or otherwise. Forget loose photos. Forget website bookmarks that you later can't find or forgot what they were about and why. Forget not remembering where you found stuff. Your memory storage system will be changed forever. There's Evernote.

When I finally went trough all the little rubbishy stuff I had lying around in the documents folders and bookmarks and other, lesser bookmarking services I have discovered that at last I know where everything is and even if I don't, Evernote does. All the funny tweeted comments can be easily stored away for later with five characters only (@myEN) and the world is at last neatly organised and clean and simple and OH MY GOD I HAVE A THINKING SPACE LEFT IN MY BRAIN!!!

WOW.

The usefulness of Evernote is something that there should be songs written about and odes and poetry and books and entire lives dedicated of singing praises. I can not express how magical it is.

And above all there is a feature that makes me weep in joy as the proud owner of a very tiny and portable graphics tablet: INK NOTES.

Let me tell it about you this way.

Evernote Ink Notes

I rest my case.

Evernotes?

I am obviously waaay behind the times; understood just a small fracion of the words you used in that post...

Geeky Stuff

I'm simply way too geeky for my own good! The evernote service simply allows you to organise all the loose thoughts and online content that you come across. It keeps all the notes and scraps in folders on some server out there making sure you can access everything you put there from everywhere. The premium service allows you to to upload files, too. Like a massive digital cork board.

External HDD dilemma - a follow-up

I wrote recently about my external HDD dillema: capacity vs portability. This week I noticed that a new Western Digital HDD has appeared on Pixmania.com, one of my favourite online stores. It's a MyPassport Essential edition with 1TB capacity.

WD MyBook Essential 1TB first impressions and the reasons why CDs and DVDs suck.

It finally arrived, day earlier than expected, my new external HDD.

First of all I was surprised how light it actually felt. Sure one kilo doesn't seem like much, but it was just simply lighter than I imagined. It was also a bit smaller than I imagined and above all SLEEEEEEK!!!! :> I was very happy to unpack it and set it on my desk.

Decluttering Efforts - Capacity VS Portability in external HDD dilemma.

Since I decided to de-clutter my apartment and my life I have soon found myself staring at piles and piles of CD's and DVD's that I had stashed in a nice box beside the TV and in columns on my desk. I have over 100 CDs and about 25 DVD's worth of backups and archives, never mind all the other stuff like movies and music. I also had a look at all the magazines that I want to have handy for reference (majority are Computer Arts and Computer Arts Projects)and piles of documents.

This is a rather scary view for someone who is aiming to be able to pack-and-go when relocating to another country. While there are a few bulky items that might make it difficult, it's the little bits and pieces that would be my demise right now; the disks and magazines are the very things that should be easy to get rid of.

The Church on Sunday

I went to the Church this Sunday.

No, really, I did. It was not a church, it was The Church of the only type you could find me in, a pub/club/restaurant in the city centre.

Another reason to regret not having a car

I don't have a car.

I don't even have a driving licence.

I have, however, extensive experience in changing tires and cursing at the SatNav. After the car trip to Nice and back I thought I will never desire owning a SatNav because of the one E. had in the car, nicknamed Amber (for being Cutthroat Bitch).

Elephant's foot umbrella stand

Few months ago I was researching various games and found a parlour game called "Elephant's foot umbrella stand". It is a funny game, similar to one we used to play as kids, where each player adds a word or a phrase to an ever expanding sentence that then has to be repeated by the next player before he adds in a new word or phrase. Ultralase

The treatment I got at Ultralase was much better than the way they have treated me at Optical Express.

Greatly Unimpressed with Optical Express

I was only late 10 minutes, I swear.

Chuffed to bits

My new webcam and my new Genius tablet arrived today.

The webcam is ok, pretty cool tiny Logitech thingy.

The tablet is... OH MY GOD AT LAST I HAVE MY OWN GRAPHICS TABLET I AM SO CHUFFED!!!!
