I don't care about things like that

About five years ago I installed the internet in my father's girlfriend's house. They both use computers, but they preferred not to have anything to do with it at the time.

The internet connection had to be password protected. The password reminder query read "What is your favourite colour?". I asked B. what was her favourite colour. "I don't care about things like that" she responded. That's what I typed in.

Negotiating with the clutter

JJ: "YES! Finally me and the clutter are reaching an agreement!"
E.: "That's not good. Clutter is supposed to take over."
JJ: "After facing 5 bags of rubbish, every clutter would give up!"

Did I tell you my life is going to change this year?

JJ's Christmas Effort - The Menu

I resolved that I will make an effort this Christmas and I decided that following dishes will land on my (and A.'s) table this year:

Starters:
Barszcz Czerwony (Beetroot Soup)
Uszka z Grzybami (lit. "ears" - small dumplings with wild mushroom filling)

Main Course:
Pierogi Ruskie (Russian Dumplings)
Karp po Zydowsku (Jewish style Carp)

Sides:
Salatka Jarzynowa (Vegtable Salad)
Sledz w Oleju (Herring in Oil)

Drinks and Desserts:
Susz/Kompot z suszu (Dried Fruit Drink)
Kruche Ciasto z owocami (Fruit Crumble)
Biszkopt z Gruszkami (Pear Sponge Cake)

The power to Forget

"Not the power to remember, but its very opposite, the power to forget, is a necessary condition for our existence."
Sholem Asch (1880 - 1957)

Yesterday afternoon I complained, during a conversation with my co-workers, that no matter what I do, I keep on remembering things that I don't necessarily want to remember or should remember.

One should believe in coincidence?

This morning some things that everyone expected to happen didn't happen and I had to make some uncomfortable phone calls just as I found out to try to rescue myself.

One would say it's nothing more but a coincidence, yet I don't believe in coincidences and I am angered at the world, which rather unfairly, yet again, makes my life more difficult than expected, planned and scheduled. Not to mention - than deserved.

Metamorphosis from the larvae form

The annual Autumn Depression has arrived resulting in re-thinking the entire life and making rather serious and rather life changing decisions, including these that will make one rich, these that will make one a better person and these that will make one a happier person, none of which involve sexual favors.

Sinking like Titanic!

I thought, when I joined the new company that it is somehow immune to the current economical climate.

I thought that we will sail trough the rough seas of credit crunch with our heads held high, not bothered by the lashing rain and the wind, not feeling the cold, as if it was a family regatta on a Sunday afternoon.

I hoped that I will be able to leave my worries on the shore behind me, that by coming aboard I have chosen a nice and easy way to get where I want to be in the future.

The Path to Greater Knowledge

I realize that almost all I know came from the fact that there is always something I didn't know about in something I know something about and I am just too damn curious to let it go.

As a result every now and then I realize that I have irreversibly opened some closed shut door of knowledge that I was to ignorant to even notice before and the real scale of my ignorance falling trough that door crushes me to death. Metaphorically, of course.

Today I have, however, opened door much much bigger than I expected...

Here is my path to these doors today:

Ask and ye shall receive - erasing memory might be possible

A level up: po pierwsze prīmō

Yesterday I have reached a next level in my relationship:

-loathing his priorities-

We have agreed over the weekend, that instead of watching two movies on Sunday we will see just the movie he wants to see and the movie I want to see we will watch on Tuesday.

On Monday, I had a hairdressing assignment. I managed not to kill the subject with the scissors and the subject managed not to kill me after the cutting was completed. He even drove me home. Monday was very successful indeed.
