Upgrading Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows Vista Business

Dear Friends and Family.

If you're reading this, I'm already in jail for dropping a bomb on Microsoft offices in Dublin.

I just wanted you to know that I had a reason and it wasn't just pure madness. I'm writing this note because I need someone to understand what I had to go trough.

I told you all already that since my laptop came preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium I couldn't install SQL Server 2005. I have detailed the trouble I went trough to figure out what have I done wrong, just to realize that there was nothing wrong with me, that it's all Microsoft's fault, that they have robbed me of Windows Authentication module that I thought I should have.

I told you that instead of copying hacked Windows Vista Ultimatum I have purchased an upgrade to Vista Business. Since I had student discount I only paid €85, but that's 9 bottles of decent wine anyway.

Today I have received a DVD with my upgrade. Delighted! I have read the instructions, pushed the DVD into the reader and launched the installation.

After entering the product key and waiting for ever for compatibility check, I have received following message:

Upgrade has been disabled
-You cannot upgrade from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows Vista Business. You can upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Ultimate.

I am raging!
